INTRODUCING OUR NEWEST WORKSHOP
Parent with Purpose
Recognizing that parents are leaders too, sisters Robin Schenck, PhD and Alicia Alford, have designed Parent with Purpose for parents of middle-school through young adult age children. This skills-based, half-day workshop is designed for busy parents who want to remain relevant and connected to the lives of their children.
Robin has integrated her experience working as a child psychologist, school counselor, educational leader and executive coach, while Alicia excels at conceptual design, strategic perspective, listening and collaboration, particularly in projects requiring team leadership, program and content development.
Parent with Purpose is for strong leaders who prioritize family, relationships, and raising their children to be happy, healthy adults.
This workshop is for you if you:
recognize that communication styles have changed now that your children are older;
are curious and caring;
are ready to invest in yourself and your family;
want to achieve your very best as a parent and have no regrets as you lead your older children to become all that they can be.
Parent with Purpose gives you the tools to transform your relationship with your teens and young adult children—
so that you de-stress your family life —
and enrich family communication.
Parent with Purpose is an intimate three-hour workshop for parents of middle school through young adult age children. This skills-based class teaches the art of pure listening and intentional inquiry, skills to help your older children move toward independence, solve their own problems, and feel empowered. Best of all, Parent with Purpose helps strengthen your relationship with your child!
Hear What Participants are Saying…
“As a problem solver and a parent who likes to get things done, I tend to believe I have answers before I ask the question. Parent with Purpose helped me transition into a new parental role of being a listener and facilitator to my children’s own problem-solving.”

Conscious Leadership: The Philosophy
Parent with Purpose aligns with our foundational Conscious Leadership Model, proven to greatly improve one’s self-awareness, shared understanding, competence and kindness.
As our children grow, we must as well.
Bigger Kids + Bigger Problems = Bigger Conversations
Effective parenting evolves as our children age. Gone are the toddler days when we provided food, clothing and shelter; the days when we had easy answers and firm boundaries. As our children age, our role as parent becomes more nuanced and complex. Parent with Purpose provides the tools to help navigate this parenting shift and teaches the skills necessary for bigger conversations.
Parent with Purpose: The Impact
1. Personal Growth
Parent with Purpose increases self-awareness and introduces intentional methods to grow as a parent. The workshop teaches new skills that open avenues for curious and caring communication with teen and young adult children and others.
2. Pure Listening
Pure Listening is a practiced skill that will assist you in transferring the leadership skills that you use in the workplace and in community endeavors to parenting. Pure Listening adds a more authentic, insightful dimension to your parent/child relationship.
3. Intentional Inquiry
By implementing intentional inquiry, parents learn to lead by listening and to guide by inquiring. By employing techniques of intentional inquiry, parents more effectively lead their older children in problem-solving on their own.
4. Daily Application
Upon completing the Parent with Purpose class, you will be equipped with an action plan to de-stress daily interactions and strengthen your relationship with your child and other loved ones.
5. Work/Life Balance
When you apply these concepts, you’ll enjoy the ability to master work/life balance, even during the most trying times of stress and transition. Quickly multiply your impact at home and at work by enrolling in Parent with Purpose.
Hear what participants are saying:
“This workshop was really wonderful at helping me re-center and be more aware of my intentions to be present as a parent. This was timely. . .when recently faced with a parenting challenge, I was reminded to listen to my daughter and to think about her whole well-being ...We worked together by listening carefully to her needs and to all the options available so that she felt empowered to advocate for herself and to choose the best course of action to meet her needs, her hopes, and her desires. . . What a gift.”
